Our SQA Level 5 Photography course is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to be a successful photographer in the real world. Whether you’re a complete beginner or you want to brush up on photography skills you already have, our Level 5 course will help you become a competent photographer and lay the foundation for a career in photography. The course is also perfect for those who want to make the most of photography as a fascinating and life-long hobby.
During this 6-month course you’ll learn key photography skills, including:
Camera skills – take control of your camera and master the technical aspect of photography.
How to use natural and artificial light to make your subject look good.
Studio lighting skills.
Posing and lighting people.
Photo editing using industry standard software such as Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop.
Photography workflow – take control from capture right through to print.
Business skills – an introduction to the business of photography.
The course includes 3 hours of classroom-based photography tuition per week at Riverside Studios, led by a qualified industry expert tutor. Each week you’ll put the knowledge and skills you learn in class to use, through a variety of practical assignments and home study, designed to help build your ability and confidence. The course also includes access to your tutor between classes should you need further support and guidance. NPA in Photography (SCQF level 5) The specific aim of the National Progression Award in Photography at level 5 is to provide a structured award that creates opportunities for learners to investigate photographs and develop and refine their photography skills. Learners further develop their:
